STRUCTURAL RENOVATION & HERITAGE RESTORATION
As the builder for this Rosebery renovation, Trade Constructions managed a substantial transformation of the existing double-brick heritage home, combining structural alterations with a complete reworking of key internal spaces.
The original single bathroom was redesigned to create both a separate family bathroom and a private master ensuite, significantly improving the functionality of the home. Two new skylights and replacement windows were introduced to increase natural light and create brighter internal spaces.
Structural works included new concrete lintels and steel elements to support altered openings and improve connections between rooms. The works included damp-proofing and preventing moisture penetration due to pre-existing moisture ingress issues. These works were carefully coordinated around existing heritage features, including the original cast-iron fireplace, allowing the home to be modernised without unnecessarily removing its established character.
The renovation demonstrates the importance of combining architectural improvements with sound building methodology, particularly when working with older masonry homes where existing structure, services and hidden conditions need to be carefully managed.

Trade Constructions coordinated the bathroom construction from substrate preparation and waterproofing through to tiling, fixtures, joinery and final detailing. Particular attention was given to waterproofing interfaces, falls, drainage and installation quality to support the long-term performance of the wet areas.
Large-format neutral finishes, streamlined fixtures and carefully considered lighting create calm, modern spaces that contrast subtly with the heritage character of the original home.
Lighting throughout the renovated areas was also upgraded to improve both task lighting and general ambience, while the new skylights introduce additional natural light deeper into the home.
The finished renovation provides the functionality expected of a modern Sydney home while retaining the character and proportions that make the original Rosebery property distinctive.
